ACCEPTING WAIT LIST CLIENTS FOR IN-PERSON AND TELEHEALTH
I am a queer, cis-female, AuDHD, Licensed Independent Clinical Social worker in private practice in the state of Minnesota. I graduated in 2021 with a Master of Social Work Degree from Widener University, PA with special certifications in working with Trauma and Disability.  I have focused my training and clinical career in working with those within the neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ combined community in trauma focused and dignity enhancing ways.  I move within this world with neuro-affirming, disability justice, anti-capitalist, multicultural, and feminist lenses. I was born in St. Paul and raised in Minneapolis, MN, and I currently reside in the Twin Cities area with my wife and teenage son.  My family is multi-generational neurodivergent. As a parent of two older children who are also AuDHD, I have many years experience with the local systems that support those of all ages with autism and mental health, from early diagnosis to transition and into adulthood. Prior to becoming a licensed clinical social worker, my education and background was in art, design and technical theatre production.
How I practice...
I specialize in working with high masking, late diagnosed Autistic and/or ADHD adults who are struggling with burnout or other issues related to their neurocomplexity.  My special interest is working with those finding themselves at the intersection of multiple marginalized identities, including Queer/Transgender, Autism Level 1, ADHD, Disability, and Complex Trauma. Many of my clients also experience autism related comorbid chronic illnesses such as Ehlers Danlos, CFS/ME, Fibromyalgia, POTS, Migraines, etc. My therapeutic style is supportive, casual, direct, down to earth, with a side of offbeat humor. I use strengths-based approaches and will not teach you how to mask harder through neurotypical social "skills," but instead will teach you to recognize your inherent value and strengths, and to utilize tools to improve your daily life and reduce burnout, depression and anxiety. I will be your guide in supporting you in embracing, trusting and loving your uniquely wired, neurodivergent self. I approach the therapeutic relationship as a partnership, with the understanding that you are the expert in yourself and I provide the tools and support. I use humor and empathy to work with you in your personal healing, increase dignity, and grow in areas where you feel broken or stuck. I'll encourage you to explore who you are through a different lens, as well as how you experience the world, and what your values and strengths are in order to help you grow in areas where you feel stuck. I use neurodevelopmental and attachment models to inform the work I do.  I use a client centered evidence based therapeutic approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS)("parts work"), Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) (Level 2) to customize care for you. I am certified in Anchored Relational Therapy (formerly known as AIR Network) to address developmental trauma at a neurological and somatic level. I utilize ongoing continuing professional education to provide competent, skilled care.  My social work lens acknowledges the need that all people have to be seen, heard, and known, and recognizes the impact of the various systems and sources of oppression and influence that shape our lives. I welcome all religions, cultures, genders, and sexual orientations. For those seeking support for ASD/ADHD, I offer  affirming therapy which honors the Neurodiversity Paradigm and is non-pathologizing and non-conformist in approach. I also provide the gay, lesbian, bi, nonbinary, queer and transgender communities safe and affirming care.
